Bright Beginnings
The Family Center of Durango offers free Colorado Bright Beginnings programs for parents with children from birth through the age of 36 months. The programs provide accurate, research-based information, education, connections to community resources, and support for parents to make the best decisions for their child's development. The Colorado Bright Beginnings programs include a free bag of valuable materials appropriate for each age level. Our programs promote the importance of positive parent-child interactions and relationship building to give the best start

Parents As Teachers (PAT)
Parents are supported by PAT-certified parent educators trained to translate scientific information on early brain development into specific when, what, how and why advice for families. By understanding what to expect during each stage of development, parents can easily capture the teachable moments in everyday life to enhance their child's language development, intellectual growth, social development and motor skills.

Love and Logic Parenting classes
A parenting class offered at the Family Center of Durango for parents of children ages one to seven. Love and Logic provides parents an opportunity to gain practical and proven tools for raising respectful, responsible and happy kids.
You will learn techniques that: • Are simple and easy to learn • Teach responsibility and character • Lower your stress level
• Have immediate and positive effects • Up the odds that, when the teenage years arrive, parenting can remain fun instead of frantic.

Book Bag Literacy Program
This program is designed to make it easy for parents to check Book Bags out for up to 4-weeks at a time. The Early Childhood Program and the Family Support Program have collaborated to create book bags with
10 books for the appropriate ages of your children from toddlers to grade 4. Tips on how to read with your child and encourage a love
