Early Childhood Services

Developmental Screening
Is your child developing on track? We can help. Screenings include answering a short "Ages and Stages Questionnaire" that is equivalent
to your child's age. We are able to screen children aged 2 months to
5 years.

Early Childhood Education Groups
Parents in these educational groups gather to assist with social-emotional development as well as gain information and education involving their child.  Each group is developmentally appropriate and meets during different times and days during the week. 

Community Playroom
Our community playroom offers caregivers a fun, developmentally appropriate place to interact with their children.  This area includes dramatic play areas, toys, an art corner and much more!

Play Groups
Please call the Family Center of Durango for the most up to date contacts for current area playgroups. Have a baby? Want to start a baby playgroup? Call and we can help facilitate.

La Leche League
La Leche League meets at the Family Center of Durango the third Monday of every month.  The purpose of this group is to offer encouragement, information and support to those women who wish to, or are currently breast feeding their baby.

Clothing/Baby Item Exchange
Families recycle their baby goods such as clothing, furniture, and other items needed for babies.  You can always donate or exchange baby items free of charge!

Diaper & Formula Bank
Families may receive bundles of 10 diapers and/or a can of formula when “in a pinch”.

Community Playroom

The playroom is open Monday through Thursday from 8 am
to 12 noon and 1-4 pm, and
Friday from 9 am-12 noon.
